The Workshop Collaborative

Supporting kids who learn differently by guiding the grown-ups who love them most.

Work With Us

What we do

The Workshop Collaborative helps families navigate the complexities of supporting a child who learns differently. That might include interpreting a recent psychoeducational evaluation, preparing for a school meeting, advocating for the right accommodations, or identifying next steps in a school journey that doesn’t feel clear yet.

We partner closely with parents, school teams, psychologists, and service providers to create a plan that is practical, student-centered, and rooted in a deep understanding of how learning works.

Our approach

At the core of our work is a passion for helping both parents and students understand how the brain works.

For parents, that means offering clarity, perspective, and a supportive presence as you make sense of your child’s learning profile and advocate for their needs. For students, that means breaking down their unique cognitive and academic profile in an affirming way so they can understand how they learn, build confidence, and begin to self-advocate with pride.

Why this matters

We’ve sat at hundreds of school meetings, sometimes across the table from worried parents, sometimes as the teacher, learning specialist, or counselor helping to build the plan. We know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, unheard, or unsure. We also know how powerful it is when a child feels understood, when a family feels supported, and when a school finally puts the right pieces in place.

This isn’t just about paperwork and meetings. It’s about building trust, making informed decisions, and helping kids thrive.

What People are Saying

“We began working with Rachel when our son was in 1st grade and struggling to learn to read. As our oldest, this was the first time my husband and I were navigating something like this, and the stress and frustration were impacting our family. We felt overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn.

Rachel stepped in and changed everything.

Her approach was calm, positive, and incredibly supportive. She guided us in such a thoughtful, neutral, non-judgmental way, helping us understand what our son needed, what steps to take, and how to advocate for him. She never made the situation feel intimidating or too large to tackle. Instead, she offered small, manageable, actionable steps that made all the difference.

Having an objective third party who truly understands the educational landscape was invaluable. Rachel is not only kind and encouraging, she is a true expert in this space. She has deep knowledge, the right connections, and a gift for helping families feel empowered. Because of her guidance, our son gained the support he needed and by the time he reached 3rd grade, he was thriving — both academically and emotionally.

We are incredibly grateful for Rachel and The Workshop Collaborative. We cannot recommend them enough to any family navigating learning challenges. They made a difficult journey feel possible, and ultimately positive.”
