What is the Workshop Collaborative?
What is The Workshop Collaborative?
At The Workshop Collaborative, we believe every child deserves an education that honors their unique learning needs and strengths. Our goal is to support families, schools, and students as they navigate the challenges that come with learning differences and mental health challenges, ensuring that each child is truly seen, supported, and set up for success.
But what exactly is The Workshop Collaborative, and why was it created? Let me share a bit about myself, the inspiration behind the business, and what makes the “collaborative” part of our name so meaningful.
About Me: Rachel Ramirez, Education Advocate
I’m Rachel Ramirez, an Education Advocate with over 15 years of experience in education, working with students, families, and schools to create pathways to success for children with learning differences. As a special education expert, my work has always focused on helping students thrive by understanding and addressing their unique learning needs, whether those challenges are academic, emotional, or mental health-related.
After years of supporting families in the classroom, I realized that many parents were looking for guidance on how to better understand their child’s learning differences and how to navigate the school system in a way that ensured their child received the right support. That’s when I decided to take the next step and create The Workshop Collaborative, a space dedicated to providing the support families need to help their children succeed both in and out of school.
Why I Started The Workshop Collaborative
The idea for The Workshop Collaborative grew from my passion for helping families and students build the confidence and skills needed to succeed academically and emotionally. I’ve seen how overwhelming it can be for parents to figure out what their child needs, how to understand the complexities of learning differences, how to advocate for support, and how to access the resources their child deserves.
I wanted to create a space where families could receive personalized support and learn how to navigate these challenges in a way that empowers them. At The Workshop Collaborative, we focus on helping parents understand how their child learns best, guiding them through how to advocate for the support their child needs at school, and providing strategies to help their child thrive in all areas of life.
Why It’s Called "The Workshop Collaborative"
The name “The Workshop Collaborative” reflects the core of our mission: working together. The word "workshop" speaks to the hands-on, practical approach we take in providing support, it's about actively engaging with families, schools, and students to create real solutions. Our approach is collaborative because we believe that meaningful change happens when families, educators, and professionals work together to understand the child’s unique needs and create an environment that supports their success.
The word “collaborative” also emphasizes the importance of partnership. Learning is a team effort, and by working together, we can help children unlock their full potential. We believe in bringing people together to share knowledge, resources, and strategies so that families and schools can build lasting solutions for each child.
What We Do at The Workshop Collaborative

Navigating School and Community Resources: We assist families in finding the resources their child needs both inside and outside of school to thrive, from academic support to mental health services.
Executive Functioning Coaching: We work directly with students to build essential skills like organization, time management, and self-advocacy that are crucial for success in school and life.
